Angela’s home church is Arch Street UMC, Philadelphia PA,
where she was baptized as an infant by her grandfather and where she returned
while earning her BA at the University of Pennsylvania. By third grade her
family settled in Bloomington, IL, where Angela’s parents still live. She
received her MDiv from Drew University Theological School in 1996, and was
awarded the John Heston Willey Prize for pulpit oratory and manner.
Angela was ordained as an Elder in the Louisiana Annual Conference in 2006,
having transferred from Central Pennsylvania Annual Conference (now
Susquehanna) in 2003. She will receive her Doctor of Ministry degree at Garrett
Evangelical Theological Seminary May 8, 2026.
Angela is 57 years old and has been married for 32 years to Hanno, a Professor
of Philosophy at McNeese State University since 2001. They have 3 sons: Justin
(29) lives in Lake Charles; James (26) is in Ruston and a First Lieutenant in
the Louisiana National Guard; and Roger (18) is a freshman at Illinois Wesleyan
University.
Angela adores her cats, is vegan, and her personal interests
include traveling, board games, baking, singing, and bell ringing. She is known
to be a diligent worker, a consensus builder, an eloquent speaker, and an
adventure seeker. Her strongest spiritual gifts include hospitality, missions,
and administration.
