Hours of Operation
Monday thru Friday from 6:30 am- 4:30pm
Full Day Preschool
5 days per week
Hours: 6:30-4:30 pm
Monthly Tuition: $700
Half Day Preschool
5 days per week
Hours: 8:00-11:45am
Monthly Tuition: $400
Additional Program opportunities for half day Preschool Students:
Daily Afternoon 12:00pm-4:30pm: $30
Stay for lunch 12:00pm-12:30 pm: $15

The Little School's History
Zachary United Methodist Church
The Little School
The Little School, one of Zachary’s oldest organizations dedicated to children, was established in the summer of 1976. That summer a group met to discuss opening a preschool-kindergarten program for the children and families in Zachary. The founding group included Marcia Eisworth, Brenda Triche, Barbara Calvin and June Siebert. They enthusiastically took their plans before the church’s administrative board, which showed its support with an overwhelming affirmative vote to provide space for The Little School. Eisworth was named director, and Triche, Calvin and Siebert became the school’s first teachers.
The group of four women was busy that bicentennial summer preparing the building and classrooms the church designated for their use in the original Sunday school building. In August 1976, The Little School opened its doors, offering a kindergarten class and preschool classes, using a developmental curriculum. That small group had no idea how many lives their creation would touch. They did not imagine the day when children of graduates would be enrolling their own children in The Little School, now a commonplace experience.
Eisworth and her teachers lived by the belief that learning should and could be joyful experience involving hand-on activities to stimulate children’s developmental and learning process. Eisworth’s attitude about childhood learning remains part of The Little School’s philosophy. The school’s students learn by having fun. Students enjoy activities such as arts, crafts, field trips, music and playtime, as well as informal chapel and story time.
“The Little School has always put the children first. There is a lot of Christian love shared, as well as plenty of smiles, hugs, and laughter seen, felt and heard in our classrooms. The Little School has touched many lives because it becomes a second home for our students. They are loved and cared for and thrive in this environment.”
